In week 20, a scientific climate earthquake occurred, but here in Norway it created no headlines: An IPCC committee responsible for preparing the IPCC’s predictions concerning the future climate rejected the most catastrophic predictions that have been in use since 2009. These “worst case” projections have formed the basis for the enormous stream of doomsday warnings in Western media since 2009.
It is the projections bearing the scientific designations RCP 8.5 as well as SSP5-8.5 and SSP3-7.0 from the IPCC’s sixth report (AR6) that have now been cancelled by the Scenario Model Intercomparison Project / ScenarioMIP. These were officially declared implausible (“implausible”) and have been removed from the future framework for climate modelling.
These are the three projections that predict the highest CO2 levels and the strongest temperature increase towards the year 2100. It is precisely these scenarios that form the basis for the government’s climate policy, and are used, among other things, by the Norwegian Environment Agency (Miljødirektoratet) to determine public policy. This is also the basis for many thousands of studies asserting that climate doomsday is near. Now the IPCC has removed the entire foundation. What does the government do about that?
No longer any basis for predicting climate doomsday
Of course, Norwegian media have not communicated this to the public with a single word, but in other countries it has attracted considerable attention: Even The New York Times published an opinion piece by author Matt Huber entitled “Democrats No Longer Need to Campaign on Climate Change” based on the IPCC change. The angle implies that voters have in any case had more than enough of climate doomsday and high climate costs.
Dutch and German newspapers have also covered the shift from the IPCC. On the front page of De Volkskrant on 4 May appears the article “IPCC rejects doomsday scenario: warming of at most ‘only’ 3.5 degrees by 2100”. In the German newspaper Die Welt, Axel Bojanowski published the article “Why climate researchers are suddenly rejecting their most dramatic scenario” on 11 May. Here he criticises the lobby that has led the public and politicians to believe that these unrealistic scenarios are truth.
The President of the United States, “The Donald”, has also taken note of the earthquake, and entered the fray in his usual plain language on Truth Social:

For far too long, climate activism has been used by the Democrats to frighten Americans, force through terrible energy policy, and fund BILLIONS for their fake research programmes. Unlike the Democrats, who use climate-alarmism nonsense to force through their NEW GREEN SCAM, my administration will always be based on TRUTH, SCIENCE and FACTS!
A significant shift that nobody wants you to know about

But what are the implications? Why is this happening, and what significance does it have?
There I must speculate, but as far as Norway is concerned it will not mean anything whatsoever. The climate industry, which lives off public climate subsidies and employs tens of thousands of people, also possesses a total monopoly on meaning in NRK and Norwegian mainstream media. There climate activists may say whatever they like in order to frighten people into obedience. Such as this deranged article featuring Cicero’s high priest Bjørn Samset in 2023.
Why delete the “worst case”, and why now?
Everyone who can count understands that today’s adopted “climate targets” are impossible to achieve. But in order to launch new climate targets, and postpone doomsday from today’s 2030/2050 to, for example, 2040/2060, the “scientific” basis must first be changed so that it fits the current situation. And this may be what the IPCC is in the process of doing. Some sources also claim that the climate measures have been so successful that the “worst case” can no longer occur. That accords poorly with the steady increase in the world’s CO2 emissions.
Unfortunately, climate hysteria has never been based on facts, science, observation or results. As I (and thousands of other analysts) have thoroughly documented over 15 years, the climate issue is a quasi-religious, collective mass hysteria based on political power, public expenditure, commissioned research and propaganda.
It is kept alive by setting aside all real discussion, promoting scientific falsification, parasitising science and presenting modelling and predictions concerning the Earth’s chaotic climate as absolute, empirical truths through consensus. At the same time, “the Earth” is to be “saved” by private limited companies receiving public money to build “climate measures” that politicians have invented, based on nothing. It is ridiculous.
Facts, science and results do not affect climate hysteria
The implication of this, however, is nothing to laugh about: Climate hysteria is a political instrument of power and a corrupt money mill. Therefore facts, science, observation and results will never have any effect whatsoever in stopping climate hysteria and the money frenzy. Had facts had any effect, climate hysteria would in fact have collapsed ten years ago. The climate catastrophe is recycled fiction, and the alleged “climate measures” do not work, but observation is irrelevant:
This collective self-deception is in fact also the greatest bubble economy in history, parasitising transfers of public money and creating abuses of power, Ponzi fraud, pyramid schemes and public/private corruption the likes of which Western countries have never seen. No actors in this loop will permit the truth to emerge, and therefore the IPCC’s cancellation or other negative results do not exist in the Norwegian public sphere.
Everything is business as usual, because the climate issue concerns only power, money and prestige. Your powerlessness and your money – which others purchase prestige with.
