State Secretary Andreas Kravik is in Tehran on assignment for Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide in order to contribute to a negotiated solution. But the regime has just delivered an offer to the United States which Trump said was so poor that he could not be bothered to finish reading it. What is Norway supposed to contribute in such a situation? The United States is preparing for a new round of war.
“Today my State Secretary Andreas Kravik is in Tehran. Kravik has held talks with Deputy Minister Gharibabadi and later today will have a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi. The visit follows up on the talks he held last week in Pakistan and Oman,” Eide writes in an email to NTB.
He says the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran is the main topic in the talks in the Iranian capital.
“On behalf of Norway, State Secretary Kravik emphasised the need for a diplomatic solution to the conflict and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Based on the talks in Pakistan last week, various proposed solutions to outstanding issues in the negotiations were discussed.” (NTB)
Norway risks appearing as an apologist for Iran. It is Iran that prioritises a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The United States has set as a non-negotiable requirement that Iran must abandon its nuclear programme and surrender 440 kg of enriched uranium. But the Norwegian media mislead to such an extent regarding the situation that it is possible that even the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is operating with the wrong map.
The two Iranians Kravik is to meet are, moreover, not among those who make the decisions. That is the leader of the Revolutionary Guard. This is why people in Washington say: “We do not really know whom we are negotiating with.”
