The far Left has adopted a particular, modernised hate ideology that repeatedly embraces a desire to eradicate the State of Israel.

It appears that today’s European Left truly longs to realise the dream of the terrorists in Hamas, Hezbollah and their endless multitude of supporters, which include both the terrorist state of Iran and our own Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, who has been declared persona non grata in Israel.

The dream is to remove Israel and all Jews, From the River to the Sea. In other words: What they call Palestine shall become free, from the River Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea, where the entirety of Israel is located.

What has happened to the progressive Left? It used to fight poverty, climate change and racism. Today, many of its supporters are obsessed with Israel, with Jews, with “Zionism”, and sound almost indistinguishable from the fascists and blackshirts they once fought against.

The veterans of the Battle of Cable Street must be turning in their graves: Just like Squealer and Napoleon in “Animal Farm”, the far Left has transformed itself into those it once despised. Now it has become a matter of “four-legged anti-racism good, two-legged antisemitism even better”.

This is written by Allister Heath in a commentary in The Telegraph. He believes the decay is complete; the political horseshoe theory has been confirmed.

The same people who complain about Russian influence everywhere have uncritically swallowed a Soviet campaign to delegitimise Israel that was launched in the 1950s with a view to suppression and realpolitik during the Cold War.

The KGB’s operations “Zarathustra” and “Sionistskiye Gosudarstva” culminated in the UN’s 1975 declaration that Zionism was racism, and the Western far Left gradually realised the potential of a “Big Lie”.

It is scarcely coincidental that the UN called Zionism racism only two years after the oil crisis of 1973, when Islamic oil states turned off the tap after the defeat in the Yom Kippur War. The entire West bowed before the attacking party, just as in the Gaza war.

The UN, through UNRWA, has also been active on the Palestinians’ side in Gaza.

The blood libel re-emerges

Activists who claim to be media-critical swallow everything found on TikTok whole, so long as it attacks Jews and Israel. By trusting old Soviet ideas and modern Chinese psyops, they embrace the ancient hatred of Jews and recreate the historical blood libel.

No one appears to care about Jewish children being slaughtered. But everyone appears to have an extremely great concern for “Hamas children”, who may well be 17-year-olds with hand grenades, automatic rifles and a predilection for rape, torture and the murder of Jews.

Even trans activists involve themselves on the terrorists’ side, and do not appear to understand that they would scarcely survive a quarter of an hour in a country governed by Hamas.

It is not the Jews, it is Israel we criticise, we are constantly told. Without Israel there would be no antisemitism; if only Jews distanced themselves from Israel, they would be left in peace, it is claimed.

Without Israel there would scarcely have been so many Jews. The Jews who lived in Europe, many of whom had fled the pogroms in the Soviet Union, were almost exterminated by Hitler. Those who remain live insecurely to this very day, and emigration from Europe is increasing. In Muslim countries there are almost no Jews left.

History moreover shows us that Jews risk being attacked and killed both in and outside Israel, even in areas where no war is taking place.

Western politicians have for years accused Hungary’s outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of leading the country into antisemitism, because he is no supporter of George Soros!

This is what they say about Hungary, the country with the largest synagogue in Europe, where large Jewish families in distinctly Jewish attire fill the streets every Friday evening for the Sabbath meal before Saturday’s religious observance of the Sabbath.

One can buy a beer in a café one evening and suddenly discover that the bartender is wearing a kippah. Who wishes to test this in central Oslo? Or in Tower Hamlets (if there are any pubs left there, that is).

Jews in Budapest are enormously safer than Jews in Oslo, London, Paris and Brussels. The same, incidentally, applies to women and other people on the streets. The reason is rather obvious, but I leave the speculation to the readers.

Everything about this narrative is a lie, and it will destroy the West if it succeeds in poisoning our minds, distorting our critical faculties and driving away the Jewish diaspora.

Antizionism is a specific, modernised hate ideology with an extermination agenda aimed at dissolving the State of Israel, and only Israel, Heath writes.

This antizionism is the big brother of the widespread self-hatred directed against Western civilisation, which is being replaced by a strange admiration for the anti-human ideology of Islam.

Just as the Marxists believed that the abolition of private property was the solution to everything, the antizionists are obsessed with the world’s only Jewish state.

They believe that removing Israel from the map is the universal solution to all the world’s problems (which for them include capitalism, militarism and sexism).

No one appears to care in any significant way what the millions of Jews who would be deprived of their property, their homes and their country are supposed to do. After all, they are merely Jews.

The result of fulfilling From the River to the Sea would at best be ethnic cleansing, most likely genocide à la Holocaust version 2.0.

The antizionists ask Jews to “go home”, but refuse to recognise that Israeli Jews have nowhere outside Israel to call home, and the antizionists wish to ensure that they never obtain such a place either.

Antizionism claims that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians, that the country kills children (the original blood libel), practises apartheid (another falsehood) and violates every principle in a woke ideology of “social justice”.

A West that gladly calls everything that can crawl or walk from Muslim and African countries “refugees” describes Jews as white settlers, oppressors who can never be called victims. This despite the fact that many Jews are actual refugees.

Antizionism is a psychosis disguised as a theory of justice, the ultimate pathological, nihilistic and anti-Western brew, a repulsive mixture of Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, Third-Worldism and critical theory, fused together with elements from Nazism, Christian antisemitism, Islamism and Soviet clichés from the Cold War.

The accusations of genocide trivialise the Holocaust and absolve Europeans of lingering feelings of guilt. It ignores the efforts of the Israel Defense Forces to avoid civilian casualties, and trivialises the actual genocides in Islamist countries, most recently in Iran.

It redefines normal military practices as unlawful, thereby rendering self-defence impossible. Thus one rewards Hamas’ monstrous human shield strategy, and calls intifada terrorism a liberation struggle.

Antizionists support a new Inquisition directed against Zionists. Well, the Jews were benevolently included in the original Inquisition too.

In order to be accepted as a “good Jew” in the West today, one should preferably maintain a hostile stance towards the State of Israel and vote for figures such as the newly elected mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani.

In addition, one should ensure that Israel is not attacked. After all, it took only a few hours before fanatics supporting so-called Palestinians demonstrated in the streets after the terror directed at Israelis on 7 October 2023.

They absolutely did not demonstrate against the murders, rapes and terror. They demonstrated against the victims and against Israel, long before Israel had reacted to the atrocities inflicted upon the country’s citizens.
