Støre mounts his high horse and asks Progress Party leader Sylvi Listhaug to deal with her party advisor Hårek Hansen, who shot his mouth off together with TV2 journalists while out on the town. It is a golden rule in journalism that one should not quote people when they are drunk, but TV2 very much wanted to knock FrP down a peg while the national convention is taking place.
FrP is the country’s largest party and that is intolerable for TV2. They would very much like to give Ap a helping hand.
The question is whether that will not backfire. The voters see through journalists who delight in the misfortune of others.
But Støre cannot refrain. He has to harvest a few points from the misfortune of others. That is how petty and small-minded he is.
He does not understand that the voters are far more generous than he is. They put themselves in Hansen’s position.
Støre does not say things while drunk, but then again he is not like the rest of us either.
Støre does not understand that with his top-down attitude he confirms the image of a politician who is elevated above everyone else.
He understands nothing fundamental about what it means to be Norwegian and ordinary.
Støre asks Listhaug for clarification after FrP adviser referred to Pakistanis as “minus variants”
FrP adviser Hårek Hansen called Pakistanis “minus variants” and said they preferably should not have children in Norway. The Prime Minister is now asking the FrP leader for clarification.– Racism is unacceptable and harmful. All political leaders should take responsibility for stating that clearly, writes Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in a post on Facebook on Sunday morning.
It was during a conversation at a bar before FrP’s national convention this weekend that Simen Velle’s adviser, Hårek Hansen, made the statements. Around the same table sat two TV 2 journalists, who recorded the conversation.
– They are measurably minus variants, said the FrP adviser about Pakistanis.
He also said that they preferably should not have children in Norway. Secretary-General Helge Fossum in FrP has confirmed to NTB that the incident is now being treated as a personnel matter in the party.
That provokes a reaction from Støre:
– It is striking that outright racist statements in FrP are being referred to as a personnel matter to be handled administratively, he writes.
– I think it is remarkable and I understand that it provokes reactions that Sylvi Listhaug is silent and has not distanced herself from the statements. People are not concerned with what FrP thinks administratively. The FrP leader must clarify whether this is politically acceptable or not. (NTB)
Skarvøy has previously been out on escapades with ambush attacks.
Was it Støre who sent them?
No audio recording from the conversation has been made public.
